AMA Summary — May 15th
We recently held an AMA session with Jay, who is currently leading the Ragnarok: Monster World project. In this session, he addressed key questions from the community, offering honest reflections on the project’s current status and sharing clear direction for what lies ahead.
This article summarizes the core discussions from the AMA.
Introducing the New Lead of Ragnarok: Monster World
Jay, who recently stepped into a leadership role on the project, shared a brief introduction and his immediate priorities for Ragmon.
He brings years of experience as a game producer across both PC and mobile titles, and joined Ragmon to help address its current challenges and rebuild community trust.
Jay emphasized two key principles that will guide his approach moving forward:
Open communication — Listening to the community and making decisions with the right team members
Transparency — No fake hype, no empty promises — only sharing what the team can realistically deliver and acting on it
His short-term focus is to stabilize the project and resolve the most pressing issues before introducing new systems or expansions.
1. Transparency & Funding
The project has generated a total of 722,000 RON to date:
NK Sales: 250,000 RON
Mystery Box Sales: 72,000 RON
Merge / Upgrade / Summon / Marketplace Fees: 399,190 RON
Since the RUPI TGE in November 2024, there has been no new revenue.
All revenue has been allocated to sustaining a team of around 25 members — covering salaries, office rent, infrastructure, and essential operational costs.
This will be the final statement regarding fund usage — future updates will focus solely on what the team is building.
TGE delays were caused by:
Postponed community sales due to holiday timing
Weak on-chain metrics and CEX hesitation in a bear market
Reallocation of listing fees to operational expenses
Going forward, the team will:
Remove fiat payment options from eZENY membership to secure token utility
Reduce Ragmon supply to strengthen NFT value
Revamp Genesis Tamer benefits to increase perceived value
Actively fundraise after product improvements and community sentiment recovery
2. Cross-Chain Expansion & Conversion
No current plans to expand to other chains like IMX or Abstract — focus remains on stabilizing existing chains
Roadmap discussions with the CROSS team are ongoing
Conversion rates:
xZENY to ZENY: 30:1 (fixed rate)
ZENY to CROSS: Variable rate based on orderbook trading on CROSS DEX
Rates may be adjusted depending on market conditions
3. Gameplay, NFTs & Balancing
A new Replay feature is targeted for release by late June
Ragmon balance updates will occur at the start of each season
New Ragmons are already prepared and will be introduced through a Ragmon Coupon system
Coupons will be airdropped to Genesis Tamers and Nyangvine holders
If feature rollout is delayed, an alternative release plan will be considered
Matchmaking is based on similar MMR. If no match is found, the range expands
Balancing principles include:
Maintaining NFT value through seasonal meta shifts
Ensuring power is appropriate to rarity
Avoiding overpowered characters
Balance patches will occur each season; era reward structures will remain unified
Starting this season, community balance feedback will be gathered in Week 3 via Muri, and applied to future updates
Nyangvine holders will also receive Ragmon Coupons, with a lower required threshold than GT holders. Final criteria will be announced later
4. Ecosystem & Platform Features
GT benefits will not apply to CROSS due to separate ecosystems and features like NFT Sealing
Dual wallet support is planned for a future update and is not prioritized at this time. Until then, players can access multiple wallets by importing private keys.
Ronin economy stabilization efforts will include:
Updating GT benefit list (e.g., adding Ragmon Coupon rewards)
Reducing Ragmon supply via:
Halved summoning results
Removal of randomness (VRF) from Merge/Upgrade
Introduction of a burning mechanism
The team will prioritize results over promises, and expand once the ecosystem is stabilized
eZENY remains 1:1 with ZENY
eZENY cannot be converted to xZENY due to distinct tokenomics and chain logic
5. Growth & Community Integration
The team is actively working to rebuild its relationship with Sky Mavis, and has maintained open channels without public criticism
Ronin to CROSS migration is technically possible and will be considered based on community feedback
No immediate plans for cross-promotions with other Ragnarok IP titles
Most Web2 Ragnarok games don’t align with NFT-based gameplay
Once the Ragmon economy is stabilized, the team may consider airdropping new Ragmons through cross-promotions using treasury allocation
6. Validator Specifics
Validator progress has reached 85.83% completion. Part of the budget initially reserved for validator setup was reallocated to cover essential team operating costs. We plan to restore these funds in phases.
Validator setup is now paused while TGE and liquidity provision take full priority
GT-related validator benefits will be updated to reflect this change in focus
